This shoe looks and feels very quality when it arrives. The brown suede is very soft and nice and the wood heel does not look cheap. The only reason I gave it a 4 is because it runs small and tight in the toe. I have a feeling the toe box will stretch as I wear it though. If I was buying it again I would probably go up half a size. The laces are also very long, and I needed to cut them so they didn't have huge loops hanging.

Here is a review after TWO MONTHS wear: I agree with other reviewers that these shoes are super cute and almost timeless looking. I have more of a DIY style that combines soft vintage thrift store finds and new, modern, edgy pieces in one outfit, but these shoes could easily fit with many styles. I always get compliments on these shoes, even from stylish men. These shoes wear super super comfortably; i can walk through the city on concrete for hours, and not worry about sore feet. The sole is super flexible and just thick enough, and the shock of the ground does not penetrate, so my feet feel undisturbed when walking over gravel or rocks (i live in the southwest!) The base is wide enough so that if i step on an uneven sidewalk, i do not trip. You know what i mean if you are a fan of wedges and platforms. I ordered these shoes not sure if I would like them. When I received them and took them out of the box, I fell in love immediately! They are wonderful!!! From the first time I wore them they are extremely confortable and match everything. I teach 3rd grade and up on my feel all day, these are great shoes for that job!! I would reccommend highly to anyone even thinking about these shoes.
