Back in the day, I would just buy a bag of cheap tube socks and run in them until they disintegrated. I also ate Ramen noodles. After winning a pair of nice running socks, I was sold on the higher quality and have stuck with them ever since.
I bought this particular socks because I had a $10 credit and needed a pair of socks quickly. While they are pricey, they did prove to be comfortable. I haven't used them enough to determine how long lasting they are, but based on the quality, I would be surprised if they did not endure reasonably well.

20 below is the coldest temperature I have ventured out in. Running on snow packed roads, with these socks I didn't have a bit of trouble with cold feet. Seem to keep their shape well; however, I haven't used them for a long time. My family thinks I am a sock "freak" cause I cycle them out so quick, can't help it...spent too many years in my youth with crusty, stretched and holey socks. I would rate these as a definite top five favorite.
