Steve Madden Women's Olster Knee-High Boot

These boots were disappointing. I'm 15 lbs overweight but I think my calves are normal sized and the boots wouldn't zip over my calf. Also, the toe is pointier than I expected.

I was eyeing these boots for sometime, and when I saw the great deal on amazon I couldn't pass them up, well maybe I should have I'm guessing I recieved the last sz 8 1/2,the boots are drastically different from one other, one boot has a big black dot smacked dead in the middle of it(noticable on cognac)the other boot seems to be of a mismatch,the leather is hard and extremly wrinkled while the black dot boot is smooth and cut from a diferent leather the overall fit of the boot is perfect, fits my calf like a glove that's why I'm so disappointed I have to return them. It's as if no one checked and saw that these boots were damaged before they were shipped out to me. in fairness I purchased quite a few shoes from amazon in the past and never had a problem.

I always get compliments on these boots. I ADORE them and they are one of my favorites. I currently work many of my winter outfits around these boots so I can sport them as much as possible.
Here's the thing, though. I had to BREAK. THEM. IN. I have muscular calves and they they would not zip up at first. But with some persistence (working from bare legs, to tights, to leggings and then finally jeans) it happened. And they fit beautifully now. This is the second winter season I am wearing them and I did take them in to a cobbler to get some lovin' (resoled, lotioned and conditioned) and I get even more compliments now. (I think it's because I can walk really comfortably in them now.)
You may not think a pair of boots are worth the trouble. And that's OK. But as someone who ownes pleather knee high boots as well as other boots, these particular boots are in it for the long haul. They are not too trendy to go out of style anytime soon. Love them!
