5.0 out of 5 stars I Can't Wait For It To Snow!, October 26, 2011

Just got these boots today and already I am happy with them and it's not even snowing yet. 1. They look wicked bad@ss on. 2. The boot insoles are removable, which means I can replace them with my own orthotic insoles. 3. The boot shaft actually accommodates my thick calves that have a 16" circumference; something most boots this tall can't do. 4. They claim to be waterproof and I can't wait to find out whether or not that this claim is true while out sledding this winter. 5. They don't seem to be too stiff and feel pretty comfortable right out of the box, so breaking them in will most likely be easy. Overall, they seem to be worth every penny so far.

1st off I am a boot lover. Have quite a few pair. These are VERY well made and look great with d^%*near anything. And weather resistant to(no proof).I got them a gold box type deal so no complaints on price either.Buy'em they are worth it.

*some arch support
*comfortable as a work boot
*They do run a little big (Im a 6-6/12 and a 5 1/2 would have been perfect)

3.0 out of 5 stars Not made for winter in Nova Scotia, February 7, 2012

I bought these boots specifically to be worn during a trip to Nova Scotia this winter (2012). These boots have the perfect height, color and comfort. However while in Nova Scotia I slipped on a lawn with snow on it and eventually fell backwards in a parking lot that had both ice & snow on it. The bottoms simply have no grip at all. Consider buying treads for them or don't use them in bad weather. I plan on using them as warm rain boots in L.A. where I'll never encounter a real winter :)

The temperature remained around 24 degrees F even when it snowed/rained. I used cotton socks and wool socks, neither made a big difference in warmth. They look and feel like rain boots so they might be a little stiff around the ankle. I found them a little tight with wool socks so go up half a size if you like to use thick socks.
