Sorel Women's Hoonah Boot

These boots are true to size, and even with heavy socks, are the most comfortable boots I've had in 25 years! Easy to put on and take off, they have a good durable metal zipper, which I worried would let slush inside, but no, these are waterproof, warm, and have pretty good traction. They are not really dressy, but I wear them everywhere. They are made of real leather, and are perfect for walking in snow and slush, and clean up easily. I would have rated a perfect 5 stars, except there is no arch support, the insole is flat.

To be honest, I was going to return these boots at first. I got them in a 10, which is a size larger for me. I've noticed in many reviews (and from buying a different pair that ended up too small) that leather Sorels are narrow. So I went up a size. The width is perfect, but I could easily slip in and out of the boots. And they're not as close fitting to my calf as I'd like. But...they are beautiful! And they are dressy in black, perfect for city wear! And I have two other pairs of Sorels, so I know they will keep me warm and be completely waterproof. So I put gel inserts into the boots, which my chiropractor recommends I wear, and I put on thick socks. Problem solved! When I wear these boots, it's likely to be spring and fall, cold and damp. So these adjustments work for me. Maybe this sounds like a lot of work for some people, but if you have narrow feet, it'll be a non-issue for you. I just got my pair a few days ago. They're very attractive and feel well made. I ordered a size 8 (my regular size) and they fit perfectly with enough room for warm winter socks if necessary. My only complaint would be that they don't fit as close to my calves/ ankles as I would like. Other than that, I'm very pleased with my purchase.
