I had such high hopes for these boots. They look great in photos but in reality, they fall short. I ordered a size 9 for my size 8.5 foot - the bottoms are comfortable but very loose around the ankles. The ties imply that you can adjust the boots but they do not work due to the stiffness of and stitched design on the leather. This would be great for someone whose calves are not muscular (i.e. less than 15" circumference) then you can tuck in your pants and adjust the ties. These are going back but I am keeping the Firenzy short boot which fits much better.

My daughter, who goes to college in Rochester NY, needed a good pair of HIGH boots as it snows everyday. She really wanted these Sorels (list $160) and was thrilled to find them for $80. These are a bit snug in the calf and a little hard to get on, but she loves them once they are on.

These boots are exactly what I had hoped for. I take a size 7 shoe, usually order size 8 sorel boots, but bought an 8.5 because I had read they run a bit small. This is a good fit. I have long thin legs, so the snugness that others have remarked upon seems perfect to me. I bought them to wear with dressier clothes in cold bad weather. They look nice enough to wear with a skirt, but also look good with skinny jeans. They are very warm, as are all the sorel boots that I have, which is a must for someone like me who always has cold feet.
