This review is from: Sorel Women's Cate The Great Boot (Apparel) I had been looking for a pair of Sorel boots for a while, something both fashionable, but extremely durable and cold weather tested. I live in one of the coldest climates and after buying these boots, I don't think I'll ever need another pair. The craftsmanship is evident from the moment you take them out box, and I have yet to step into the snow and feel even the slightest bit of cold. A very feminine way to stay warm for a very long time. I would definitely buy another pair again, but the construction is so solid, that I don't think I will ever need to. 19 of 19 people found the following review helpful: By ChicagoReviewer (Chicago) - See all my reviews This review is from: Sorel Women's Cate The Great Boot (Apparel) These boots are amazing. They are lightweight, comfortable, INCREDIBLY warm and keep my feet dry. I was out in deep snow today for about four hours and was warm and dry the entire time. They are not as bulky as other Sorel boots but not as 'slim' as they appear in the photos, still very cute. I'm normally a size 8.5. I got the 8 and although they felt snug at first, they are fine. 19 of 20 people found the following review helpful: By E. A. This is the 3rd pair of high boots I tried - only 1 I kept. They are easy on and easily adjustable with the lace system. I put an Uggs sheepskin insole in as I don't like to wear socks. The fit on my foot is perfect with the insole (size 9M) - a little slip in the heal which is normal with boots. They are warm but I tend to not get cold.
4 instead of 5 because they are a soft boot - feels like I'm wearing a hightop moccasin, i.e no ankle support and the flat bottom provides no arch support. I can add a bit of arch support, but can't do much about the ankle support. That said, the boots I returned fit well for walking but were extremely hard to get in to. I wear waterproof hiking boots and gators for snowshoeing so these are for short walks, errand running, getting the mail and should be fine. I wouldn't want to be in them and on my feet all day, though...Read more |
