I purchased these boots in anticipation of the big snow in the Washington, DC area in early February. Amazon service was fantastic. I selected regular shipping to reduce my costs. I purchased them on the morning of February 3rd, and they were delivered on February 5th. I am returning these boots because they are too big -- huge. I normally wear a size 9 and ordered a 9. My calves are normal size, and my ankles are thin. There is about 1.5" extra space in the toebox, and extra room on the sides of my feet, so I felt like Herman Munster when I tried to walk. The boots are also difficult to put on. It took about two minutes to get each boot on -- I'm not kidding. The problem is that they are narrow above the heel, and the elastic strings do not stretch enough for my heel to pass through while wearing regular mid-weight socks. On the plus side, these boots appear to be well made and waterproof. I will search for a different Baffin boot as a replacement.

If you're looking for a serious pair of winter boots these are it.
Non-slip, water/weather proof. They're not elegant looking, more on the sporty side.
It's easy to pull on and off. I typically wear size 8 for the width and have a large 16" calf so they are perfect for me. I ordered a size 8 there's a little extra room w/a pair of thin sock there's a little extra room in the toe box. My feet & lower calf have never been warmer. I like pairing them w/a pair of jeggings.

This boot saved me this winter with the 12"+ snow we've been getting.

I bought these boots for my wife as a Christmas gift. She has used them for snowmobiling and shoveling/snowblowing in Northern Vermont. These boots are great for either. If you are looking for boots to walk for miles in...look elsewhere as that is not what these are designed for. They keep her feet toasty and she seems to like them very much.

Although the boots were what we expected, the buying experience was less than great. I purchased these boots through Altrec.com's Amazon store. Altrec did not meet my expectations for shipping. I ordered the boots more than 2 weeks before Christmas with 2nd day shipping and they did not arrive in time for Christmas. Altrec took over a week to process and ship. I understand that the holidays are a busy time for shipping but this delay was caused by Altrec not the shipping company. What I am more disappointed about is that they have not contacted me for resolution.
