I tried the Sorel in this style, but they were way too small across the width of the TOP part of the boot going across the widest part of the foot. So, I went and bought these instead. These do not keep feet warm in really cold winter weather, but they are great if you want a boot that doesn't overheat your foot so you can wear them shopping and not be terribly hot. However, I do live in Canada, and the temperature has been minus 12 degrees celsius here so, many of you may find this to be a warm boot after all? However, because of my bad experience with the Sorel's of this similar style, I ordered these a half size larger, but it wasn't necessary. They fit true to size. My feet are short and stubby, meaning kind of wide, and these are comfortable -- like a pair of sneakers, but with more winter protection. I love these boots! They're true to size (I wear 9 1/2), fit perfectly, are quite comfortable in < freezing temps thanks to the fuzzy lining, can tromp through mud/water puddles, and look great, too. With a combination of style & comfort, what's not to love?

I absolutely could not be happier with these boots... I first ordered a pair of Sorel's because I had the impression that they were the best WINTER BOOTS on the market, and I could not have been more disallusioned! I returned the Sorel's and ordered the RED Sketchers and have been in WINTER BLISS with them ever since. I travel from FL to the Mountains of Colorado every other week, and am often trudging through 6-12 inches of snow, and slush. My feet have never gotten cold in these boots and they also walk well. Just chomped back to my condo on St Patty's day last week about 1.5 miles, through pouring snow, and packed snow and the boots did GREAT! They also have a fair amount of traction on black ice, which is impressive. I highly suggest these boots!!! I can't say it was worth the issues i had with my sorel's that left a 2 inch gash above my heel...but i will say... PICK THESE!!! you won't be disappointed! Obiously i like them enough to spend time writing a review...
