Skechers Women's Hard Core Boot

These boots look nice online, and they looked even better when I received them! So I was excited! But, I went to put them on, and the base of the shaft was extremely tight (approximately where the second strap from the bottom is located), but that's not unusual in new leather boots. So I continued to ease my foot into them, and something on the inside actually cut the top of my foot... and I had socks on! I've never had that happen before, so I don't know if that was just a defective pair or if the shoe is designed that way. I wasn't willing to take a chance and re-order the boots again.

I have many pairs of Skechers shoes & boots & there is a range of quality, some good, some not so much. This pair says leather & I can smell a little leather when I sniff them, so it's not entirely a lie, BUT they feel fake, therefore they were either very treated on the outside with something manmade or have a thin covering of something manmade. There is a scuff on one of the boots that I tried to use grey permanant marker to correct & it's won't take the color at all, which leather would do. At the alleged 'real' retail price of $134 these boots are a joke. The only reason I didn't return them is because they only cost $30 on Amazon when I bought them & I don't mind having a pair of boots that I can bang around in that I won't care if they get beat up for that price. They were not easy to put on. There was a bit of wiggling required & I had to wear thinner socks. Recommend buying 1/2 size up so they're easier to get on & can wear w/reg cotton crew type of socks.
