I really wanted to like these boots but they were just too shiny and looked awkward when I put them on. The foot is shaped in a long oval, and the boot has skinnier but not tight ankles, so they just looked strange on me. They were also big around the calf (my calf is 141/2" around). I have realized that part of the problem I have been having with the right fit has to do with the height of the boot compared to my lower leg. I ordered the Fossil Audrina boots and they were perfect because they didn't come up as high, looking more balanced on my shorter lower leg. I have tried 10 different boot styles and finally found the one that looks good on me! If you have wider calves and a longer lower leg and you like shiny more formed boots, the Chaminade style may look good on you. All I can say is keep trying. You will eventually find the one that suites you.
too small in the calf for me,

These boots are well made and very pretty. The leather was nice and the boots seemed very sturdy. I liked that the tread is pronounced.
These boots were too small for my 16" calfs. Also, The material buckled around my ankle, probably because they were so tight on my calfs but really loose around my ankles.
Simply an improper fit.
