I bought some new shoes (loafer-ish style) that I really liked but they were loose around the heel. My heel slipped up and down on each step. These little cushions stick in the back of the shoe and provide just enough extra padding to "snug up" the fit. They have stayed in the shoe for several weeks with no sign of coming loose, sliding out of place, etc. I have bought some before (long ago and far away) that were basically just adhesive corduroy or something like that. These are much thicker,a thin bit of foam perhaps, and are MUCH more comfortable! However, it your shoes are already snug around the ankle/heal area, these might make them too tight.

These are great! I've read reviews of people who said these don't work..just make sure that you stick them high on the back of your shoe...I made a mistake and placed them in the middle and my heel kept popping out, then I placed them up a little higher and they've been great so far. I'll definitely buy more for another pair of shoes.

Like most people, one of my feet is just slightly larger than the other. This can be quite annoying, when one shoe is constantly slipping off my heel. Solution: heel cushions. 'Nuff said.

PS--these are also excellent for preventing chafing and blistering when wearing shoes sans stockings or socks.
