I have five pairs of Frye boots and these are my favorite. Please note, these are really 14G boots, not 14L, which have leather soles. I have them in Tan, which is a lovely, dark golden color that goes with absolutely everything. The leather is thick and high quality, and they are leather lined. These Fryes are made in the USA, unlike some of the other styles, which are made in Mexico. The rubber soles make them a tiny bit more rugged looking than the 14L and makes them useful in wet weather and on slippery surfaces. I am 5'11" and these come up about four inches below my knee. I love that they don't look huge, even on my size 11 feet. They fit easily under boot cut jeans, and have enough room to tuck in jeans if that's what you want to do. As for fit, they run pretty true to size. They are slightly larger than normal, but I would say less than half a size. They definitely run smaller than the Frye harness and belted harness styles, both of which I also own. With a thick...Read more

Initial review: I am so torn regarding these boots. I ordered them in the black and the brown. The left boot of the black pair started clicking loudly with each step, so I sent them back as defective and asked for another pair (which has not yet arrived). Now, the left boot of the brown pair is doing the same thing. If not for this, they would be perfect. I've worn them out in the snow and they kept my feet dry. They have great traction and they look good on. What I need are boots that I can wear out in the snow, and then around the office without having to change. If not for the weird sound effects, these would be perfect. I'm still debating as to whether to send the brown pair back. I would love to hear from others who noticed this - did the sound eventually go away?

Update: I called the Frye customer service line, and they said that the clicking noise was not normal, and that it indicated that the shaft was broken. So, I returned them both for a replacement,...Read more

This is the third pair of Campus boots I have purchased. I absolutely love them. The rubber soles are the best for comfort but they all are great. My first pair I have had for 3 years now and they still look new. As long as you take care of them and oil them once in a while they will last forever. Totally worth every penny.
