So, I'm guessing that boots these days are designed to go over pants, because I tried on about 50 pairs and they all had huge gaps at my calves. No, I don't have tiny calves, but they're not huge, either. I never had a problem finding boots to fit my calves years ago, and my calves have only gotten bigger in the meantime. So anyway, these actually fit my calves without a huge gap. They are fairly comfortable. They get all wrinkled and bent at the top of my foot where my leg starts, so that part doesn't fit well, but overall, they fit. (I went down a half size to get the calves to fit, so they are a tiny bit tight). I like the way they look. They aren't flashy, have a nice rounded, riding-boot-type toe, and I feel like they will be wearably in-style for a long time. The leather is holding up well. No scuffs yet and I have worn them quite a lot.
