Dr. Martens ALEXIA Women's Leather Boots, Black

These have become nearly daily wear shoes since I got them. I love Dr. Martens, and I have to admit, while I love the vintage UK Docs, they've done a good job in maintaining quality now that they're made elsewhere. That being said, these are great boots. They are not quite as chunky looking as I feel the picture indicates, the leather of the shaft is very very soft,and the metal studs are a cute detail. They are lined about halfway down inside in purple plaid flannel, which is a nice touch. I did find them a bit difficult to get on my feet at first, but it may just be that I don't normally wear boots that don't lace up. I mean, of all DM's to not have a back tab, right? :) So, those side loops are essential. As far as the sizing goes, I have seen a lot of debate that they run large, but as a person who owns DOZENS of Docs, they seem true to me. A UK6 (a US women's 8.5) in Docs always fits me without fail, and I went with the UK6 in these, and they are spot on. Also, I was not blessed...Read more

Bought these for my gal. she briskly walks a good 6 miles with the dog per day. Through farm fields and paths. She tears through rubber boots like her dog tears through a bone. These boots were just the answer. Leather, sturdy sole, loose on top for pant legs (a definate plus) and quite stylish. I took them in and gave them about an hour of Kiwi. They will hold for quite a while. I have but one complaint. The leather portion of the heal. It, strangely, is only single seam with about a good quarter inch of flap beyond the seam. I don't yet know if this will be a sealing issue when it comes to water but it does give off a kind of cheap appearance to an otherwise perfect boot. I loaded the single seam with kiwi and worked it in to hopefully prevent leakage. So far its fine. and they are the first weather boots that have not given my gal any blisters.. So far So good. A great buy.

the write up said these boots run a size larger, so order them a size larger. They ARE NOT a size larger, they are true to size. The boot is ok but the company it comes from is not ok, in fact they are a pain in the butt and the shipping costs were exhorbitant by the time I got them returned with a lot of foul ups with the pro sport company they came from.
