Part of them were still polyurethane, and those were the parts that ripped and broke really easily. But all-in-all, a decent boot for the $60 I paid back in 2009. I'm not sure I'd want to pay $90 for polyurethane, but that's your choice. Since the front is thick, it might not actually matter, and it might be just as good as the patent.

The sole is really good. Not heavy at all. I suggest getting some sole inserts, or some really thick socks. If you do that, you'll be able to walk and dance in these for hours.

Mine finally broke when the sole came off. It happened gradually in the last three months or so, and I'm not exactly gentle, so if you're gentle they could last you even longer.

Anyway, I really liked them. I'm not going to be getting this style again, but I enjoyed them while I had them. They're nice and simple (for large, stompy platforms), and don't overwhelm the outfit if you're not into the flashy chains and weird accessories and such that...Read more

These boots are great. They're comfortable, they're actually pretty easy to walk in, and the large surface area of the bottom makes them very stable. They're not as heavy as they look at all. However, they are not for walking distances in--very hard on the feet for going more than a block.

I got these a couple years ago for playa boots. They're great..however now after two years I am seeking a replacement. Quite comfortable and I personally didn't think they were too heavy. I did end up buying little boys soccer socks because they are thicker to wear with them and they are the perfect length so you don't see the sock sticking out from the boot. I've worn them out dancing, in the desert and in the mountains. Great boots for the price. I think this time I will get a different style though. I will mention that after a lot of wear they do start to slouch and I kept having to buckle them tighter and tighter to stay in place.
