Slip into the Switchbackâ"¢ for low-profile support that looks as good on the street as it does on the single-track. Columbia's revolutionary new Techlite® heel moves dense stabilizing elements to the outside (putting softer material directly against your foot) to provide a cushioned and conforming fit to alleviate pain and irritation where trail runners told us they felt it most. Omni-Grip® traction on the rubber sole grips rocks, dirt, mud and just about anything else you encounter on off-road adventures. Breathable mesh and a soft material in the flex zones mean superior comfort with great agility and ease of movement. The gusseted tongue keeps out rocks, sticks, and dirt while light, sinewy overlays offer additional protection without adding unnecessary bulk.
Key Features of the Columbia Switchback Low Women's Hiking Shoes: - Open breathable mesh tongue and vamp

Received these boots today that I had purchased as a gift for my fiance. Paying attention to the description of a Columbia waterproof hiker this description could not have been further from the truth. The hiker is constructed of mesh that you would find in an everyday running shoe. I was not satisfied with this product and returned it promptly. Please be warned to not always count on description of product as it was clearly labeled on the box as non-waterproof the complete opposite of the written description.
Great boots,

My feet are tender and it is hard for me to find hiking boots that I can wear. My first hike in them was just 2 miles and that was just about right. A couple more hikes and I was ready for long hikes. I wanted a good boot that was comfortable and I got that.
Wish they were still available!,

These were great shoes from Columbia. Problem is they don't make them anymore! I had a tough time nabbing the last of the line on the internet. They were VERY popular. I just don't understand why producers discontinue the products that people love.
