The Columbia Women's Bugaboot Plus Zip Omni-Tech Boots have been keeping America's feet warm since 1993. Well, not literally. America doesn't actually have feet per se. Imagery aside, these boots are built to take on cold winter weather and make sure your feet stay dry and warm.

Bought this boot because of Columbia's reputation. To my dismay, the boots were the most uncomfortable pair of shoes I have ever put on my feet. The foot part was comfortable, but the calf and ankle area was so stiff that it rubbed and pushed on my leg. It was actually painful. I returned the boots. I am extremely disappointed.

Other reviews have talked about how painful these boots are near the ankle area - this is very true. The boots need to be worked/stretched a little to avoid the painful ankle rub. Wearing thicker socks also alleviates this. The second you put your feet into these, you'll understand what we're all talking about - it feels like it closes in around your ankle. Also, if you have not-so-skinny calves like me, your boots are going to tend to unzip as you're walking around.
Pros: These are incredibly warm and snuggly, and they're very lightweight. The weight of the boots makes it very easy for you to walk around in heavy/deep snow. I used to have a pair of lace-up Bugabootres that were much heavier, and that bothered me initially. I also went through numerous pairs of laces in the Bugabootres because the lace holes were metal and tended to fray the shoelaces - that was another reason I chose the zipper boot this time.

I love the look of these boot, but they are not comfortable. They are very stiff and they hurt my ankle and leave me with a horrible sore every time I where them. Bought online and not sure if i can return them.
