Summary: looks nice but will not last 2008-11-13
Comment: I bought these boots in November of 2007 for a present for my daughter. I gave them to her on Christmas day. They were fine for the first year. My daughter wore them for about a total of maybe 3 months the first winter. When my daughter put them on for the first time in the second season, September 2008, she came home later and told me that 1 of the bottoms were cracked. Not only were they cracked, they were split all the way from side to side and all the way to the cloth of the boot. I called bearpaw shoes, told them about the problem, and they told me that I would have to deal with the company that I bought them from. When I got hold of the company that I bought the boots from and told them about the problem, they told me that they no longer handled or even deal with bearpaw. They told me good luck dealing with bearpaw. I got hold of bearpaw shoes again and told them about the situation of what was going on. Even though they told me that the shoes were warrantied for defects, if that is what they call it, they would not be able to help me. I even asked to talk to the owner. I got his answering machine and have not even gotten a response from him. If you want a pair of boots for $50 that wont last 1 year, this is the boot for you. I feel that these were worst purchase of boots or even shoes that I have ever spent money on. $58, including S&H, and all I have to show for it is a pair of boots that won't even hold water out. Do yourself a favor and pay a little more and get a better boot that will last longer than a season. Stay away from the bearpaw name

Summary: great bootie... 2008-05-06
Comment: I bought these because they were 100% shearling and not an artificial lining. I wear them mainly around the house as a slipper in MI. We have done some home renovations recently (ripping up carpet to expose the hardwood underneath) and that has caused some drafty-ness on the floor in winter. The boots are perfect and keep my feet nice and toasty. They are also comfortable. It isn't like there is arch support or anything, but it's the same as if I had been walking around barefoot, just with warmer feet.
I would recommend these to anyone, and would buy another pair. I found that they were also true to size (I wear a 10 and bought a 10).

Summary: Bear Paw knock off uggs. 2008-04-07
Comment: These are just like the name brand for a fraction of the price. So worth it. I don't understand why anyone would pay so much for the real thing when you can get these.

Summary: Great Buy 2008-03-29
Comment: These boots are exactly what I was looking for. They look just like "Uggs" but are much cheaper. They are also the perfect height for wearing over jeans.

Summary: BEWARE: The bottoms (soles) have NO traction 2008-03-01
Comment: I have other boots that have great soles, with wonderful grip and traction, and are great for wearing during slippery or snowy conditions, but lace up and are not easy on/easy off. I have clogs that have great gripping soles with wonderful traction - no worries about slipping or sliding, and they are easy on/easy off, but won't accommodate an accumulation of snow/slosh.
So, I wanted to add a pair of boots that were easy on/easy off, with grip and traction, and that would accommodate the colder, sloppier days, and handle the accumulation of snow/slosh. I thought these were *the* boots that would be a great addition to my winter footwear - WRONG.
The bottom of these boots are slippery - very flat surface - no grip or traction - very disappointing.
These boots are a great height, being 8 inches high. For me, that makes them easy on/easy off.
The inside is soft, and the boots are very comfortable, and very warm. The suede is attractive.
BUT the soles are all wrong for this type of boot. If there is anything on the ground, it's hard not to slip - so watch out. If this information had been available before I purchased them, I would not have purchased these boots... I will be keeping these boots since I've worn them outside (my daughter warned me when she saw the bottom of the boots, but I thought they'd be OK - she was right, they're not OK).
And, I read the reviews before I ordered, so I ordered 1 size larger - they're BIG !!! I personally would recommend ordering your true size (of course going up to next size for those who wear 1/2 size).
If you want them for looks and warmth and comfort - they're great.
If you plan on wearing them outside in snow (or slosh or rain) - then check out other boots that are *really* made for outdoor wear.
I'll only be able to wear these on those cold days when the ground is clear, which is a big disappointment.
