I'm soooooo glad I bought these boots now that we've been pummeled by 21 inches of wet heavy snow. These boots are perfect for heavy snow in subzero temps. Just a warning though, these boots look BIG! Understandably so because they're rated for -148. I'm not sure how many people in the world are elite enough to ever test this assertion, but they will likely work for whatever cold temperatures I'll ever experience. If you're into the new Ugg boot look, then they won't look comparatively that big but they are warm because they have a 1" foam liner inside them. They look a lot like snowboarding boots when you put them on. The liner makes it hard to tuck any normal pant cuffs inside them but if you're wearing long underwear with skipants then this works or you can roll your cuffs up and tuck them inside the cinch sleeve at the top. I wear a 7.5 street shoe and ordered a size 8 which fits perfectly. I am 5'4" and the boot comes up about mid-calf and it's about 14-15" tall from the...Read more

Poor fit on the heels, but very warm and soft inside,

I didn't need a boot that would be warm down to -100, but decided to go ahead and get a heavy duty snow boot since the less warm/less waterproof ones were also over $100. I'm sure this boot is extremely warm and waterproof, and it is certainly very soft and cushy inside due to the pillowy inner liner, but I would not recommend this boot unless you truly need to stand for long periods of time in extreme cold and wet conditions. This boot is very stiff, fairly heavy, and quite difficult to walk in (similar to ski boots). My biggest complaint is actually due to the fit.
I have normal width size 7 feet and typically fit true to size in most running shoes and boots. My calves are very athletic and my heels are not narrow, so I've never experienced boots that moved around too much. The length of these boots is just right and true to fit. However, even with the straps cinched as tight as possible and wearing 3 pairs of ski socks, the width of the heel is so wide and the space...Read more

I finally found "the" boot. I have been looking forever for a boot that would keep my feet warm. I had to retire my Lacrosse 20+ year old boots and was looking for anything that would compare to being as warm as they were. I finally found them! This morning our temperature was -5 so I thought it would be a good day to go romping around outside just to see how warm they actually are. I was VERY impressed! I was outside for over two hours walking around in the snow and my feet were so toasty warm. I have a lot of problems with cold feet and I "have" to have a boot that will keep them warm. These are it for me. And did I mention how comfy they are? It is like walking on a mattress. :) I guess the only thing that was a little hard for me to get used to, at first, are the higher tops these have, but after wearing them for an hour or so they limbered right up and I was used to them. Like any shoe/boot you buy, at first, you need to get used to them on your feet. Some people complain about...Read more
