I've had my pair of these boots for somewhere around 3 years now and they are great! I didn't notice any break-in time; they fit fine right out of the box. They're comfortable to stand and work in all day long and are still going strong after a lot of hard use (with the only exception being the laces that have started wearing out where they rub on the hardware). My last boots left my bad joints aching and sore by the end of a day on my feet, but not these. They also hold up to the elements extremely well, mine have frequently been ankle deep in mud and doused in water (the waterproof leather is a godsend!), and I've accidentally let them sit dusty and dirty for a couple months and they still clean up good as new. The only thing that's changed about them is that the dark color faded a bit and marks up easily (pressure or scrapes stretch the leather and create paler spots). These are the most comfortable shoes/boots I own! They are perfect for riding and I bought the waterproof style and plan on wearing them all year round. No breaking in is necessary, they are pure comfort from the first moment you put them on. Love them!

This is my second pair of Terrains. My first pair I had for 5 or 6 years. Just bought my second pair and love them!!
